update :)

So, I'm terrible and most of the time I forget that we even have this blog, but Joni (re)reminded me a few days ago and I had a lot of fun looking at all the awesome pics and vids that I missed over the past month or two. Looks like everyone's doing well, and I miss you guys a lot. It was really great seeing Jess and Jon and the kids a couple times since we got back --- it was the first time for me to see Katie, finally!!! Sooooo cute!! :) Anyways, I've been giving each of you guys somewhat short updates on my life every now and then, but I wanted to get everyone caught up at the same time on what I'm doing this summer.
So, Michindoh REALLY didn't work out --- they even had to lay off a few of the people they already hired because of a drop in camper numbers or something, and in addition to that, we all know that Hillsdale is pretty scanty on employment (I searched about 30 different job websites even before summer started and the only thing they turned out was a desk job at Advance, the company that was next to the clinic that moved locations about two years ago.) So I'm working on the house and cleaning and filing and doing stuff that needs to be done instead. I'm also working a lot on my music --- by now I have about fifteen songs of my own written, over thirty covers learned, have played for three gigs (and another one tonight and tomorrow night) since April, have one YouTube video (they're surprisingly exhausting to make when you want to get everything right....), and I'm working on getting my MySpace flushed out with my recordings from the PI. Speaking of which, it was AWESOME and I'm going to try to get pics of the trip on Facebook this week (it's just easier to upload them on there because there are over 300...yeah.) Life at home is understandably a lot less busy, but like I said, I'm still keeping myself pretty occupied. Oh, and also now I kinda have a boyfriend...:) Aside from all that, I've been hanging out with Liz and my other friend Heathre a lot, which is awesome because I haven't seen either of them in months.
So...that's about it!! Love you guys! :D

"Uh Oh Pants!"

Derek has Mikey run down the driveway and get his newspaper in the morning. (Even in the rain, if you notice our driveway is wet.) Mikey's diaper was a little heavy and started falling off him. Derek kept saying "uh oh pants" so Mikey would pull them up, but he was more concerned with getting the paper and his diaper slid off his butt.

Sorry for the blury pictures... Mikey runs "so fast" (that's what he says).

Katie and Mikey's first Tigers Game!

We took Katie and Mikey to their first Tigers Game last night... and it was their first time to Detroit! (Derek's boss gave us the company tickets AND parking pass:)) Mikey loved seeing all the busses... red bus, white bus, yellow bus... We made it through 1/2 an inning before Mikey said, "all done." We made him sit through the rest of the first inning, then we walked around the stadium. Mikey liked going up the BIG escalator, then running down the ramps. We wished we could have watched more of the game... maybe next time.

Fourth of July!

We had such a great, relaxing July 4th! We want Auntie/Ninang Jessie to move home. We had so much fun with her. Thank you for the cute July 4th outfits for the kids :) We ask Mikey if he liked the parade and he says, "firetrucks loud." He also says, "ride choo choo train - so fast." I'll send more pics via costco later.

I had a widdow tuwtuw, he wivved in a boxth...

I had a little turtle, he lived in a box,
He swam in the river, he climbed on the rocks,
He snapped at a mosquito, and he snapped at a flea,
He snapped at a minnow, and he snapped at me.
He caught the mosquito, he caught the flea,
He caught the minnow, but he didn't catch me!

Of course, scruffy his puppy had a turn at the song...You just have to shake your head and laugh.
