Project #3

The "Domesticated Skirt."

That's what the woman called it on her blog. I found this when I was looking for a skirt pattern for Katie's MSU skirt. The blog is called "Sew in a Straight Line" which is what I'm trying to master. I liked what she did, so I thought I'd try making something for myself :) Her skirt was much neater than mine. I had to tweak a few things since she had a sewing tool I don't have. It is reversable for when you get it dirty and need a quick change!

Now I'm looking for project #4. Stay tuned...

Project #2

Project #2 is a "pillow case dress." It's supposed to be made from an old pillow case. Well, all my old pillow cases are plain, so I found a cute print. Katie thought she'd be my helper this time, not just my muse :)


So - Here it is! I had a little white ruffle trim on the bottom, but, after following the directions exactly, it ended up backwards. So, I used the green fabric, since it matched the ribbon for the shoulder ties, and made a green trim.

Hopefully Project #3 won't take as long as Katie's dress. The next project is a skirt for me :)

Oh the MADNESS!!!!

Sew... I'm getting the hang of STRAIGHT lines. I know. I've had my sewing machine for a while, but I don't have much time to sew. Here's the little pillow I made for Mikey. I loved the fabric, so I atleast had to make a pillow.


And now, what I'm really impressed with... My little Spartan! Isn't she cute! I made the skirt!!! I looked for some patterns online and found one for a doll skirt. It gave me the basics on how to do a good bottom trim. I'm not confident in sewing an elastic waist, so I just used ribbon for a drawstring waist and ta da... my little spartan cheerleader!

New Bike Helmet

I got Katie a bike helmet at Meijer the other day, so she can ride in the rickshaw with Mikey behind Derek's bike. How Fun!

Que Paso Ayer?

This is Scott's new favorite t-shirt...and mines too. He got it free with the unrated blu-ray of the Hangover...or as we say in Mexico, "Que Paso Ayer?" (What Happened Yesterday?) I told him he should wear it during our home study interview :-)

I don't know what prompted this, but it's classic "Lucas", of course. Silly Kid.

Mikey's Birthday Hangover

This video was taken the Sunday after Mikey's birthday. He didn't nap on Saturday or Sunday. He slept from the time this video was taken to 6:30am Monday morning. 12+ hours.
